Stunning, Obvious, & Sinister (S.O.S.)
It is said the best place to hide is in plain sight. Beltway politicians have this mastered.
Recently, while reading The Wall Street Journal, I came across a line that stunned me. It was in an article discussing how to ‘get ahead’ of the Democrats proposed tax increases. Of course, being a young capitalist, I am savvy with the Internal Revenue Code. Though, I do always love more advice on how to pay the least amount of taxes. What happened, however, shocked me silly.
At the bottom of the first paragraph, the author makes the passing mention, the $2 trillion in tax increases are for the “party’s priorities.” Read that again. One more time for good measure.
It’s a stunningly sinister assertion. Its implications are subtle. The truth of the matter spells out tremendously disastrous situations for our republic. The Democrats are telling Americans it is not only their job, but their sworn duty to promote policies which forward the party’s interests. This sounds like it came straight from the Soviet Union’s Politburo. This is in direct contrast to a certain former administration led by an Orange Bad Man. Perhaps, though, it is tit-for-tat with a Winnie the Pooh figure’s administration.
The main object of a republic’s federal government, such as ours, is to serve the needs of the States which make up that union of sovereignty, and to each person to whom a representative represents. Each party has different modes and methods to accomplish the republic’s interests. But what they all should have in common, is the unending pursuit of American interests. Not the party’s.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate ‘Majority’ Leader Chuck Schumer have one of the narrowest congressional majorities in United States history. A 50-50 Senate split does not show the people want socialism. Yet, Democrats are trying to transform America in such a permanent fashion—it will be difficult, if not impossible, to reverse the largess of communism. As President Ronald Reagan said, there is nothing more permanent than a government entitlement.
Democrats can claim to the high heavens their desire from this ginormous leftward paradigm shift is a “progressive” platform. But there is this thing called objective reality. That means, unsurprisingly, the possibility to find objective truth in matters.
One thing that is undeniable, is that the Democrats are copying action-by-action the Communist Party of China and their dictator Xi Jinping. (Who is, coincidentally, referred to as a president, not tyrant?)
Reality states, if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck: it must be a duck. Same applies to tyrants. The only thing missing between the Biden and Xi Jinping comparison is Biden’s savage killing of Americans…wait, Biden’s drone strike murdered an American aid worker in Kabul and seven children.
Never mind.
From the facts, all that matters are the differences in scale of authoritarianism. The constitution has been long forgotten by Biden. His memory is that of a goldfish’s.
Dr. Jordan B. Peterson calls what we face a national psychosis. That is, masses of people are acting with varying forms of insanity. One definition of insanity, quoting Albert Einstein, is to do the same thing and expect different results. Democrats have been able to convince considerable portions of the population, even many “republicans,” that the pursuit of progressivism is not the conveyance of communism.
Many people say they are anti-authoritarian. Many others believe in “anti-fascism.” Freedom is in their foundations. Some even fight for their lives in pursuit of their truth. Yet, unbeknownst to them, they are pursuing exactly the opposite.
To act not in conformity with one’s beliefs is to live in a state of cognitive dissonance, a form of insanity. In fact, everyone does this in some part of their lives. No one is perfect.
However, when it comes to policy and politics, acting in such a state affects us all. When you are the post-cold war superpower of the world, it can have detrimental global effects. Such effects, we have seen under Biden’s Administration, is leading to a rising China and the death of our republic. A seemingly bleak sounding future. But sadly, only to some. They believe it would be better.
Hopefully those still blinded by promises of a progressive utopia soon open their eyes. Utopia never comes. Only hell awaits.
